we love hamantaschen cookies!
Hamantashen are roaring these days. The dense hat shaped cookie filled with jam has become one of my favorite ways to cookie. Should I hate to say it… but Oreos are number one and I eat plenty of them. PLENTY. So today I want to recognize this special cookie for the upcoming Jewish holiday called Purim. These triangles came a long way with the original filling of poppy seed tucked away in the cookie center. Mohn= poppy seeds and tashen= pockets.
La Deliziosa pastry shop began making their version recently and I was quite excited to see. They are smaller than the usual, buttery, and mmm. Typically I’d get my hamantaschen from the grocery store which meant they were a little more dry and just not true to the integrity of the cookie!

Japanese Green Tea Horchata
PIN IT Just as we round off Cinco de Mayo weekend, we may still be thinking about horchatas, concha, and beef tacos. I have been thinking about horchatas and the fact that I never found them appealing until now. What could you do with tea other than sip it hot under a blanket or drink…
Everlasting Food Memories

Fried Ricotta Stuffed Squash Blossoms
Squash blossoms remind me of Grandma Zani. She used to stuff them like she stuffed her ravioli. I’ve only ever eaten them a handful of times, and it’s been a while, but I almost remember exactly the savory, breadcrumb-cheesy filling. Breadcrumbs are key. You would think I’d ask her why, but instead, we always assumed…
